Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan has commenced a three-day official visit to India, arriving in New Delhi to engage in discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This visit is centered around the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, which is aimed at enhancing the bilateral relations between the two nations.
This visit marks Takaichi’s inaugural trip to India in her official capacity. During this summit, the discussions between the two leaders are set to cover a range of critical areas such as trade, investment, defense, technology, and regional security. They will also assess the progress achieved under the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
Upon her arrival, Prime Minister Modi expressed his pleasure in hosting Takaichi for her first visit to the country. He highlighted his anticipation for comprehensive discussions that would further deepen the ties between India and Japan. Modi also underlined the importance of ongoing collaboration to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, extending beyond.
The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the summit would serve as a platform for both nations to broaden their cooperation across various sectors. Additionally, it will allow them to exchange perspectives on regional and global issues that hold mutual interest.
